27 Common Website Terms and Digital Marketing Terms
In 2013 we talked about 16 common website terms that users should know. Now in 2026 the industry has grown, and there are more common website terms and digital marketing terms that you should be aware of.

Below are some common websites terms and digital marketing terms you may come across:
- URL – The web address that points to a page, like https://kzsdigitalmarketing.com/about/
- Domain name – The name of a website, such as google.com or Facebook
- Registrar – A business that handles domain name registrations. Places like GoDaddy, Namecheap, and Cloudflare are well-known accredited registrars
- Home page – The main, root-level web page of websites that serve as the primary entry point and digital storefront. It sets the brand tone, directs traffic, and encourages visitors to engage.
- Navigation – The menu or links that let visitors move between pages.
- Header – The top section of a page and often contains the logo and main menu.
- Footer – The bottom section of a page. It often has copyright info and extra links.
- Content – The text, images, and video that make up a page.
- Hyperlink – A clickable element, such as text, image, or button, that connects one location on the website to another. When clicked or tapped, it directs the user’s web browser to a new web page, file, or specific section of a page
- Search engine – A tool, like Google or Bing, that helps people find information online.

- Call to action (CTA) – A prompt that tells visitors what to do next, like “Book a Call.”
